Rules for this rp

General Rules

➤ Be respectful.
If you run into a disagreement with another user, please try to solve it diplomatically, or contact an admin. We'll try our best to solve the dispute.

➤ Be literate.
The occasional typo and grammatical mistake is alright, but keep in mind that a small part of the reason your application has been accepted is because you've proven that you have a good grasp on the English language. Refrain from using chat-speak.

➤ Don't miss activity checks.
There will be an activity check once every month, lasting one week each. Please make sure to either post a hiatus if you're going to be gone, or check in. If you don't, your character will be freed up for someone else to take.

➤ Participate in events.
Every once in a while, there will be forum-wide events. Please participate!

➤ Play according to the rules.
Hetaoni is extremely difficult to play out in an RP setting like this, so we've had to change some aspects of it. To keep RPing smooth for everyone, please read and follow all our rules. Your first code word is eyebrows.

➤ Check the Announcement section often.
Every once in a while, a new time loop will begin. Therefore, threads you make starting from the new time loop must accommodate the slight changes that accompany each new loop. However, due to the discrepancies in time, you will be able to continue threads begun in previous loops without any problem.

➤ Your application must be accepted before you can RP.
You're free to create an account, and reserve your character / submit an application. However, please do not start RPing (both in forums and in the chat box) before your application has been approved by an admin. (Make sure to read the comments we leave, too; if your application is overall good but lacking in some small aspect, we'll ask you to expand on that as you RP.)

➤ If your application is rejected, you must wait a period of one day before resubmitting. You have up to two tries before the character is permanently denied.

➤ You are allowed to have a maximum of two characters.
However, in order to gain the second character, you must first reach 25 IC posts with your first character.


➤ Play only your character.
In other words, please be logged in and roleplay only as the character you've been accepted as in the forums.

➤ Keep things PG-13
There is to be absolutely nothing sexually explicit in the chat box. Ever. It doesn't matter if you and your partner are the only ones online; keep things clean.

➤ What happens in the C-Box is not canon.
Therefore, please do not reference chat-box happenings in threads. What happens in the C-Box stays in the C-Box. (However, you can carry over what happened in threads over to the C-Box). If that is clear, your next code word is maple.

Roleplaying

➤ No God-modding.
We're going to be very strict with this rule. Control only your character(s)! For example, don't assume that you've actually hit something, just because your character strikes. The only exception to this rule with be the monsters, which will all be admin-controlled.

➤ No sexually explicit content.
Sorry, but this is according to Proboard's rules. Please do not RP anything with sexual content. (You can swap MSN/AIM/Skype/etc. to RP that privately, though.)

➤ Do not kill other characters without their permission.
If you don't have their permission, you'd be breaking the no God-modding rule. Characters can and will die in this RP; just make sure that you control only the death of your own.

➤ Always write what time loop your thread is taking place in.
Please write down the time loop in the beginning of the RP in brackets, parenthesis, etc. This is to keep things organized.

➤ Be active!
Real life comes before RPing. However, for the sake of our other members, as well as potential members, we're going to have to ask you to make at least one post every 10 days. If this will not be possible, please post in the hiatus thread so that your character will not be freed up.

➤ Update the threads in the Casualties board and the Provisions board.
Make sure to post in the Casualties board if your character dies. (A note will be placed in the Announcements section upon the death of a character.) Also, if you don't post in the Provisions board at the end of a time loop, we will assume that your character has left nothing for his or her future self. Your next code word is knife.

Character Skills


➤ Not everyone can use magic.
In fact, allow us to be more specific. The only characters that are allowed to use magic are England, Norway and Romania. However, their abilities are different. England's spells are as shown in Hetaoni, while Norway specializes more in summoning magic. (Please keep what he summons relevant to Norwegian myth, though. For example, things he'll be able to summon are trolls, lindworms, etc.) Both characters must keep in mind that there is a limit to magic; extensive use will tire them out, and can even kill them if overdone. If you are playing an OC and believe that your character ought to be able to use magic, contact the admins with reasons why, and it'll be considered. (Remember, it must make historical and cultural sense.) Another code word for you will be tomatoes.
